Our First Station

We are very excited about acquiring our first radio station.  In November 2021 we completed the purchase of FM broadcast station WZQY licensed to Glade Spring, Virginia. WZQY is a Class A FM station which serves Washington, Smyth, and Russell Counties in Southwest Virginia. After acquiring the license for WZQY, we relocated its transmitter and antenna to a higher mountaintop site. This new transmitter site provided a bigger coverage area. We are currently exploring additional options for improving the coverage area and audience potential for the station. Plans for long-term programming and staffing the station are also now being formulated. No announcements have been made about the exact nature of the planned future format or other programming elements, but we at Ladybug Radio are dedicated to providing locally based information and entertainment to listeners in Southwest Virginia.
